Above the village near the church are two casemates protecting the beaches either side. There is a small fire control post in from of the church and trenches running to the west. To the rear of the cluster of buildings is a fortified wall. On the main road into the village by the church is a concrete post into which a chain would be strung acroos the road to prevent access after curfew.
