The Atlantik Wall In Normandy |
|
St Germain Des Vaux Map 1110E Places like this SK Fire Control Post are why I like the western coast above the rest of the regulated bunkered Normandy. Out on this coast local solutions were used and local commanders built what they needed. Built into a farm wall it would have been difficult to spot from the sea. Look at the two photo's on the right. The door has been mounted upside down, it was possibly the only door available, looks like a bit of my DIY! This site does not appear in any books, but looking at the size of the calculation room and the lack of FCP's in the area you could imagine that this was responsible for perhaps Castel Vendon to the east as well as the Auderville Batteries to the south west. |
